Hills Yoga offers Iyengar Yoga for a wide variety of individuals’ yoga capabilities, from Children’s and Adult Beginners’ Courses and classes for the more experienced at Levels One, Two and Three, to specialised therapy and private tuition sessions.

CLASSES

General Classes

Classes are available for Levels 1, 2 & 3 to take you on your yogic journey.

Each week we focus on a different aspect. This varies between: backbends, forward bends, hip-openers, chest-openers and restorative.

Foundation – NEW CLASS

Tuesdays (7.15pm-8.15pm). Also from 7th November, Thursday mornings (9.30am - 10.45am) - Replacing the Level 1 class.

Focus will be on learning and consolidating the primary postures.

Most suitable for students who have completed a Beginners’ Course or returning to Yoga after a break. May also suit new students who can’t make a beginners course or Level 1 students wishing to consolidate their understanding of the primary postures.

Dynamic Flow

Faster paced class involving surya namaska, standing and floor sequences. May also include some inversions and backbends. Suitable for all levels, but not suitable for beginners.

Gentle/Therapy

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured” - BKS Iyengar

Specialised, small class numbers, for new and current students who need greater support outside of regular classes.

Restorative Classes

“Yoga helps you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together.” - BKS Iyengar

A quieter, slower paced class, this is a gentler style class designed to reduce stress and fatigue in the mind and body. They are a special feature of Iyengar Yoga, which incorporates the use of props to enable students to access poses more comfortably. Suitable for all levels, including Beginners and Pregnancy.

Pre- & Post-natal Pregnancy Classes

We are not currently conducting dedicated pre- or post-natal classes. Depending on your experience, however, you are most welcome to participate in any of the other classes we offer. If necessary during the class, the Teacher will adapt the poses for you to ensure the maximum benefit for you and your baby.

BEGINNERS.jpg

Beginners Courses

Professionally constructed 8-week introduction to the main postures (asanas). Recommended for students who have little or no Yoga experience.

Commencing dates for Beginners Courses:

  • Wednesday, 16th October (7.15pm - 8.15pm)

  • Sunday, 13th October (10.15am - 11.15am)

8 week course $140 ($130 Concession). Students may attend 2 classes a week at no extra cost.

Casual attendance $22 per class.

Bookings essential. Minimum of 8 students for a course to proceed.

Level 1

When you have progressed in your Beginners Course(s), you may move to Level 1 classes, where you may extend your understanding and practice of Yoga.

Children’s Yoga

Fun, creative way for children to learn about themselves through the Yoga poses. Helps to develop a positive mindset and build up strength and confidence in a non-competitive environment.

Sundays (10:15am – 11am)
Parents are welcome to join their child in the class at no extra charge (one parent per child). 
8-week term course $96.
Casual attendance $15 per class.

The start date for the next Children’s Yoga Course will be Sunday 12th May 2019.

Level 2

For students who are familiar with the primary asanas and wish to refine and deepen their understanding of them. Will include inversions.

Private Tuition

Private classes are available. Stephanie specialises in catering for students with specific needs, for example:

  • Neck, shoulder, hip and back problems

  • Chronic fatigue, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Auto-immune diseases

  • Neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis (MS) and Parkinsons

  • Diabetes

Level 3

For more experienced students who have a regular home practice. Requires a solid foundation in the primary postures. Classes will include inversions and advanced back-bends.
